Edward Schwartz is a co-founder of ORG with over 32 years of extensive experience in investment and real estate consulting. Alongside co-founder Jonathan Berns, Mr. Schwartz has dedicated his vision and expertise to building ORG into a premier full-service investment firm.
Mr. Schwartz is a driving force behind ORG's commitment to meticulous due diligence and incisive analysis, a hallmark of the firm's approach to identifying investible and attractive assets across diverse classes—from real estate and private equity to sports teams and public companies. He is deeply involved in the firm’s rigorous review of investment managers, co-investment opportunities and secondary offerings. As a thought leader, he shapes ORG’s economic and financial market perspectives and is instrumental in developing bespoke client portfolio strategies. Mr. Schwartz is a voting member of the ORG Investment Committee.

A testament to Mr. Schwartz’s exceptional investment acumen and operational expertise is his oversight of Ipswich Town Football Club on behalf of ORG AZ Secondary Opportunity Fund. Under his stewardship, the club achieved the remarkable feat of back-to-back promotions from the third division of English football to the Premier League—a historic accomplishment only achieved four other times.
Prior to co-founding ORG in 1999, Mr. Schwartz was a consultant with The Townsend Group, advising some of the largest public and private pension plans in the United States. His responsibilities included investment manager reviews and strategic portfolio construction. He also served as Portfolio Manager for a Townsend-sponsored limited partnership with 350 taxable investors, overseeing investments in over $1 billion of real estate assets.
Mr. Schwartz is a respected voice in the industry, participating on The Institutional Real Estate Letter’s Editorial Advisory Board. He is a frequent panelist and speaker at industry conferences and educational forums for public pension plan staff and trustees. Mr. Schwartz has authored articles for various pension and real estate-focused publications and has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal for his insightful opinions on real estate issues. He holds a Master of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Kenyon College.
